Carole Flowers-Clement Co-Founder

Carole became dedicated to fighting for the cure after losing her eldest daughter, Sheryl, in 2009 to triple negative breast cancer at age 42. Carole is a retired nurse who brings an extensive background in both health care management and education. Prior to retirement, Carole served as the Program Director of Health Services for the Oakland Public School District where she developed and implemented numerous school-based and community health projects for 107 schools and approximately 52,000 students. Examples of Carole's proactive work in the health field are extensive and include the development of the Hepatitis Immunization Project for Seventh graders with the Alameda County Health Department for which she received the distinguished Public Health Partner Award in 1997 and the implementation of the nation's first Diabetes Education Program in public schools. In 2001, Carole was voted Administrator of the Year in recognition for her outstanding achievements in school nursing by the California School Nurses Organization (CSNO) Bay Coast Section. She currently sits on the board of CSNO and is a faculty member at City College of San Francisco, where she teaches in the nursing program. Carole holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in Health Services and Education. She currently lives with her husband in Northern California.
